Paxil

Recent studies have indicated that women who took Paxil before or during pregnancy were at a dramatically higher risk of delivering a child with severe birth defects. Infant death and still birth have also been linked to Paxil. According to these independent studies, women who took Paxil were nearly twice as likely to have children with these debilitating conditions.

In 2005, the FDA released a statement on Paxil, “suggesting that the drug increases the risk for birth defects, particularly heart defects, when women take it during the first three months of pregnancy.”1 Further studies reported in medical journals such as The New England Journal of Medicine indicated links between Paxil and numerous other defects and even symptoms of infant withdrawal syndrome.

If you or a loved one were prescribed Paxil (or its generic equivalent) just before or during pregnancy, and your baby has birth defects, you may be entitled to compensation.

The most commonly linked birth defects include:

  • Club Foot
  • Anal Atresia
  • Heart Defects
  • Lung Defects
  • Brain or Spinal Chord Defects
  • Malformation of the Skull
  • Abdominal Wall Malformations

Other possible complications immediately following birth include:

  • Seizures
  • Vomiting
  • Low Blood Sugar
  • Breathing Difficulties

If your child has suffered these or other serious side effects or sudden death, the Montgomery Law Firm can help you determine if you are entitled to financial compensation. Contact The Montgomery Law Firm to determine if you are entitled to take legal action against the manufacturers.

In other pharmaceutical cases those who acted first recovered settlements, while those who waited recovered nothing. Call 877-444-1005 or complete the FREE CASE EVALUATION below to schedule a free case review today. Know your rights, before you lose them.
